These Aren’t Trader

Sir Oisen leans up against an ash tree as Ronin eats apples with Endellion’s mare from a low hanging branch.  Endellion glares at him.  He can see her impatience is growing as her cheeks redden with perspiration.

“I wish I had a Clarsach to help me sing,” he starts singing.

“But my voice will have to do,

The song of the Sifs

Goes like this:

A people long ago

Where from no one knows

Maybe the faie do, maybe the faie do

Jinhai was the name of one of these forgotten foreigners

Saw the Lady of the River Tyne basking in the sun

Plucking the strings of his Ruan he sang to her

His words were unknown to her but his intentions were clear”

Here the other Sifs and Endellion join in:

“What a glorious beauty you are

Naked but for a coat of sunlight

And how glorious your quarter moon ears

My sight is both blind and full

With this visage of you”

Alone he sings again:

“My name is Jinhai, the foreigner sings tapping his chest

What is yours he sings pointing at her?

Ailsa, the Lady of the Tyne River sings back touching her chest

And they would be together

Giving life to both the Sif and Fif”

The others join in:

“Until the jealous giant Agnar arrived

And he too fell in love with Ailsa

Even though she had already given birth three times—”

I was a poet first, but also became a fantasy and science fiction writer. Poetry is still instilled in my stories. My goal is to entertain with thought provoking stories.
