Honour The Belt

Lance “Bas the Brutal” Hyder sits at a large wooden desk staring at a split monitor. He adjusts his glasses and shifts his 6’7” (200.7 cm) frame. In his professional wrestling days, he was listed as 6’10” (208 cm) and weighing 410 lbs. (186 kg). Considering he’s now sixty-five years old and all his injuries, he probably lost an inch (2.54 cm) of height. Of course, his wrestling boots added two inches. He would have to look into the growth hormone injections offered nowadays. There’s a knock on his office door.
“Come in,” he says.
The Source said he had a surprise for him. A massive shouldered young man with dwarfism enters. He has his long blond hair tied back in a ponytail and Hawaiian shirt. The person who followed the short, powerful looking young man causes him to gape. Same coloured blond hair pulled back, same eye colour but wearing a different coloured Hawaiian shirt, is a giant. Not just in height but also in girth. He couldn’t help but looking back and forth at them. It was like seeing an identical image in different heights.
“Have a seat,” he started to say, then added, “Or do you need two,” to the giant.
“They’re big enough,” the giant replies in a deep, withheld voice.
“We’re the twins,” the dwarf tells him. “Goriath and Brokkr.”
“Tell me about yourselves.”
“We,” Brokkr says before hesitating. “We were wrestling for another grassroots promotion, in a different territory but it didn’t really work out.”
“What happened?”
“The promoter’s nephew is,” Brokkr was obviously trying to be diplomatic, “the main attraction. Not by crowd choice but his own. He also hurt someone in wrestling school.”
“That’s never good,” Bas the Brutal injects.
“We think it was on purpose,” Brokkr continues. “There was an amazing wrestler, named The Spiral. Great body, perfect height for power and high-flying moves, along with a stellar amateur wrestling career. He was practicing a match with…this promoter’s nephew…when suddenly he was lying on the mat, unable to move. His neck was broken.”
“Paralyzed?”
“Partially, but he might recover. He can use his hands and arms properly now, but his legs aren’t firing properly.”
“You don’t want to mention this…nephew’s…name?”
Brokkr licks his lips. “He goes by, Caesar.”
