A Motley Sisterhood of Pirates!  BOOK TWO  (Part Eleven: Blog Fifty-Six)

By Dan Watt and Taylor Norris, co-authors of the Rita Walker series

Navigator “Storm Caller” Master Jo Anne puts away the scrying sphere.  The Nagua is so close enough to the other ship now there are waves pushing back and forth between them.  She glances back at “Unibrow”.   Janet is beside Nippi holding a lit bowl of oil.  Standing up she can see “Ship Builder” with “Ship Protector” holding another bowl with burning oil.  Even further back “Wheel Turner” is straining to keep the Helm’s wheel steady.  Beside her is one of the girls who will remain on deck during the fighting.  In the girl’s hand is a large cowbell.

“Dizzying Blade” is standing against the starboard gunwale with a grappling hook.  Other crew also have grappling hooks.  Intermittently between them are some of the stronger girls with short bows at the ready.

Alejandra is also at the gunwale with a telescope, searching the enemy ship for any crew with ranged weapons.

Master Jo Anne readies her own bow, a medium range one, and watches the enemy ship’s cannon windows.
